I would like to buy a slide-mounted sight rib (preferably combo, like the Rock River one) for one of my 1911 pistols. Looking for a used one on this forum before I go to Rock River for a brand new one.

Regards,
Oleg.

I have a used one if you are interested. It's not a "sight" rib.

Thanks, Bill. I am looking to replace the Clark scope rib with the sight rib.

Thanks, Evgeny, I can buy a new combo rib from Rock River Arms for $125. I am looking to save a few bucks by inquiring on the forum first about a Rock River combo rib or a Bomar sight rib.

Regards,
Oleg.

Wow, I honestly did not know that RRA combo rib even existed. Good to know

Oleg you are aware of how heavy the combo rib is right?

KC, no, I have no idea of the rib's weight. Could you, please, give me a comparison to a Clark rib with a 1" Ultradot, or a micro red dot (Aimpoint, Holosun, Sig, etc.) Those are my frames of reference.

Thanks,
Oleg.

Gotta type fast and run, but I found some notes from the past.

RRA combo rib weighed 6.15 oz. Clark rib with a 1 inch UD and Weaver low rings was 8.4 oz.

Also, the RRA sheared two of the screws that I used to mount it so excitement was soon to follow. Luckily I got to watch one hex cap screw head depart so I had early warning.

Thanks for the weight comparison. It seems that either the RRA combo rib or a Bo-mar rib would fit my needs.

What's the benefit of the combo/sight rib, since it can't be used for EIC or service pistol matches?

Well it's great for shooting irons or a dot in standard matches.

I don't have those dots.  Just the ribs by themselves.  The combo rib weighs 5.9 oz, a regular RRA rib weighs 2 oz.  So the rib by itself is 3 times heavier.
