I'm looking for the metal base to mount the unit on, not the windage base.

My opinion is to mount the base to a hardwood / heavy laminate plywood base, then mount that to the anchor bolts in a concrete or metal pedestal. You need a vibration dampener to get the most consistent results from my experience. I'm sure others have different opinions, but I have tried both and that is my preference.
