Hi Everyone, I am interested in getting started in reloading for my Walther GSP .32.  Friend of mine has a Dillon 550C which I really liked the way it operated.  I'm flexible though.  At this point probably only reloading equipment, dies, etc for the .32 but maybe adding other calibers in the future.  Thanks!

I don't have any to sell but will make a recommendation. Use any die to decap, 38s are cheap and easy to find.

Get a Hornady profile crimp die, l think its in either 327 Federal or H&R mag . Use it as a sizing die. Any seater and any taper crimp will work.

Getting accurate measures for small charges is hard

Greetings,

Which model Walther do you have?

The older square barrel or the new "Expert" model that is blue with a round barrel inserted?

If the barrels are factory Walther, they will gauge at 0.3135"-0.315". Your best choice for bullets would be well cast sized to the barrel diameter or 0.001" larger (0.314"-0.315").

If your pistol has a custom barrel, then things change considerably.

Test 1.6 to 1.7 grains of Alliant Bullseye and check for best grouping.

If you have access to a chronograph, test some loads and try to keep them under 740 FPS.

Should you need brass, buy some Lapua or Remington. Either will work well with the larger diameter bullets.

Much more stuff to discuss; but, this should get you started.

Cheers,

Dave

Thanks for the info!  I have the older version of the GSP with the square barrel.  I've also been saving all my brass for the last couple years during league since I knew at some point I would eventually do this, just wasn't sure when or how.  Friend of mine in my league has a press that he uses for his GSP so I've done a little bit with him.  Also a couple years ago bought a bunch of primers and bullets but then life got in the way and it all got set aside for a while.  Interested in getting back to it now.

Greetings,

Life is good!!!

Hopefully your friend is open to helping you reload on their machine.

Many benefits. You can witness and participate in a hands on experience allowing you to fully understand all that goes into the job.

You will also learn tricks that are not always posted.

Bring a notepad and make a list of items to buy as you migrate to your own setup.

Cheers,

Dave

I also recently started loading for the 32 swl.  Somewhat frustrating at first, but its comming together well. I broke down and bought dillion dies as they seat and crimp separately. I was using a hodge podge of 32 acp and 327 federal stuff that was only working so-so. Once I started with the dillions, and put a heavy crimp on cases, Life got easy. I haven't played with powders yet, this was the first recommendation and it shoots.  1.7 gr bullseye,  88 gr cast bullet (Accurate molds) coated with hitek and sized to .315.

The unique tech powder bar is excellent at getting low charge weights very accuratly. I highly recommend it.

Target is 10 shots form a random rest at 50 yards. Bullets sized to .314 were much worse...

I had 3 Hammerli 280’s and your group is what those 3 did. 10 ring no matter what I did. Unless you have Dave make you a barrel this is just about the best you will achieve

9 shots in the x ring... as good as I can do at 50 yards... if this is the best I can do with minimal work and testing and so-so cast bullets.... ill take it.

Greetings,

Always pleased to see a fellow bullet caster!

Which Accurate mould design did you purchase?

I trust you are shooting/testing a Walther GSP?

Cheers,

Dave

Here you go... only one shot would have been out of the x ring, assuming proper sight in.WTB Reloading Equipment for Walther GSP .32 caliber 20201017

Rob,
I’m having pretty good luck with that mold too. Cast soft, tumble lubed and sized .315. Benelli 90. Been working with Bullseye and WST.

I would bet the lighter bullet is giving you the speed for better stability. The now discontinued Hornady 90s were superb. Better than 98s or 100 gr alternatives.

The Walther twist is too slow and bore too big for most factory ammo. That's why I like 1.7 WST, it gets 730s in my gun.
