Red Dot for S&W Model 52
First topic message reminder :
Someone suggested I get a Vortex Venom for my Model 52? Thoughts? What mount would I need?
Thanks, Bob

Re: Red Dot for S&W Model 52
The two major issues with that mount is that it is heavy and that most people find that it needs to be removed for cleaning. When it is removed you need to rezero. The 52 doesn’t require tons of cleaning, but this was THE reason I went with a reflex sight on an EGW rear sight notch mount. The gun is just as accurate and doesn’t require rezero after stripping.

Their website points out that the mount has to be removed to remove the barrel and slide. I think I will stick with the Rear Sight replacement mount.
Thanks for all the input.
