WTB .45 JHP, SWCHP and/or SWC projectiles (185 gr or 200 gr)
Since I seem to keep missing good opportunities, I'll just ask if anyone knows of a quality vendor with in-stock, or if anyone sitting on excess stock of .45 JHP's or SWCHP's that they want to convert back-to-cash please let me know what you've got and how much you want for them. Zero is the brand I'm most familiar with, but I'm open minded! Would also consider SWC in 185 or 200 gr. Thanks, Cliff

Brazos makes excellent bullets and are great to deal with.

One well respected pistol smith who’s creations typically sell instantly advised me to quit wasting my $$ on FMJ or MJHP and shoot SWC for practice. He recommended Magnus. My local (Distinuished Master” coach recommended Brazos. I have shot both of their 180/185. Then actual weights are closer and within a few grains. One was low and the other was high. Brazos surprised me a few mothsa ago and had some stock items and also I back ordered the 180gasixgunner wrote:Brazos makes excellent bullets and are great to deal with.
He shipped both within 2 weeks. The master pistol smith recommended Bullseye and VV N330 and said they were virtually interchangeable. Great results for this novice...

Thanks for the advice. I have heard mixed reviews about their shipping methods but hopefully that’s been addressed. Last time I looked they were completely out of stock. I’ll check again today!

Last shipment from Brazos was Ok. I have talked to both owners or whoever answered and talked about packaging as I had picked up some tips from RMR and others.croesler wrote:Thanks for the advice. There is not an issue...and if one box did split, it would be totally self contained.

I had a problem with my first order from Brazos during shipping. The bags broke open and I had mixed 200 and 180 grain bullets. Called them and they replaced the two bags instantly. They’ve been fine ever since; no shipping issues at all. They shoot excellently.
As for shooting SWC lead vs JHP, that was the way I am going, but with the excellent results I’ve had with Brazos and Magnus lead bullets, I’m not sure now.
