Herters, so should be decent quality knock-offs.  Question is what do they fit.  The N-45 is likely for the Colt Government.  The N-38?  Maybe 52, but that's a guess.

I remember visiting their Waseca store in the mid-70s.  Still have a package of size 14 fishing hooks (unrealized plans to try tying trout flies).

I can clearly read Herretts on the inside of one grip. Don't know where Herter's comes from.

The person selling the grips has no knowledge of shooting.

Look closely at the photos and you will see Herrett stamped on the inside panel.

How "Herters" got into the equation, I have no idea.

I'm not sure the second set of grips marked (38) aren't 1911 also. Might of come off a super or something.

Although, $36.00, plus tax, is not a bad price to take a chance.

I am very sure both these grips are for 1911.  Geometry seems right. Left grip cut for safety and plunger on both. Right grip cut for mag release and extended cover over pins. Nice price if you have spare screws and nuts in proper sizes. Quick sanding, stippling or not, then oiling.

There is a process for cancelling a bid.  I suspect not a problem with so much time left on the auction.

But also probably unnecessary as there will probably be many more higher bids.  Serious bidding doesn't begin until the last 1-2 minutes (actually last 3-30 seconds).

Yeaa last 5 seconds. Many use auto bid in the last second or two.

I won, anyone want the M52 grips? I will sell them for $28 shipping included which is what I paid including shipping.

The 1911 grips “look” like the left one has a little more pronounced left thumb rest. If you don’t have the specs on the screws, PM me.  I think they are a 6-32.  The length is easy to cut using wire crimping tool with the threaded shears.  I have cut more 8-32 screws over the years than I can count as that is what a drawer pull uses.

I assume you know the trick of using two #4 wood screws on the right to stabilize the heel plate once you get it fitted.

Good deal...strip and put on about 5 coats of Tung oil and they will look like new...  I tried to get you some bidding competition, but the local guys did not need them.  LOL...
