Commercial or USM? USM is going to big bucks that is pre Black Army.

Hello Jon,
All non-military (commercial) model serial numbers will start with the letter "C".

I’m under the impression that from 1929 until 1968 the Colt 38 Super had no ‘C’ until 1969.
Regardless, looking for receiver with only numbers

Jon;
You are correct. You are looking for a "Super .38" or "Super Match .38" made from 1961 thru 1962. This is from Colt dates of manufacture by R. L. Wilson.

Correct. Apparently, I think only in terms of .45ACP.
Good luck with your search.
