Based on that discussion - perhaps there should be a restriction on ammo sales - no more than one box of around 50 rounds of ammo per customer per day or per week. 

If I went into a store and saw 20 boxes of 22 ammo, knowing how scarce it is, maybe all they should sell me is one box of 50 rounds.

Some of the local stores here are doing that...50/person/day or one bulk pack/person/day....and the prices are reasonable $3.29/50. Yesterday there was three types of Aguila 22 and CCI Blazer on the shelf + LR primers.
