22 ammo on GB
I have no affiliation with the seller.
Seller has 97,000 rounds of Aguila SE. Selling (no bidding) in lots of 1000 at $180 plus shipping via ground . He told me all are from the same pallet and same lot. That is 90 a brick. I might buy a couple 1000 to augment my stock of .22.
No CC fee
There is a shipping link in the post to calculate the cost.

Never gonna see ...
$30 a brick again. Too many market and political forces in constant play. A new normal might be $50 a brick if the planets and stars align right.zanemoseley wrote:Still 3x normal price.
No new factories to make ammo being built.

That's what I though during the last 22 shortage but we still got down to $229 cases of CCI within a few years. I wouldn't be buying too much at inflated pricing unless you're desperate.

A good article, but it leaves out one contributing cause - consolidation. Vista now owns Federal, CCI, Speer, and Remington. Companies don't buy other companies unless they can profit from it (perfectly reasonable). That profit comes from reducing costs and increasing prices. The most basic way to reduce cost is to trim excess capacity. That doesn't account for the drastic runup but it probably does contribute.

As one who closed or consolidated 35 factories, warehouse, and offices over a 20 year period….YES…when you buy, you either want a brand name, or you want to shut down a pesky brand name to reduce competition or you need more capacity and you buy a competitor or you need special equipment.

my take, as a VSTO a share holder is that they will ramp,up production in the Remington factory

But will they save overhead by using remington quality control for federal and cci? Thunderdud failure rates in all 22 ammo sounds not exciting.C7@71 wrote:As one who closed or consolidated 35 factories, warehouse, and offices over a 20 year period….YES…when you buy, you either want a brand name, or you want to shut down a pesky brand name to reduce competition or you need more capacity and you buy a competitor or you need special equipment.

If you believe competition is encourages companies to perform better and that consolidation reduces competition, it doesn't look good.

Re: 22 ammo on GB
Lots of comments and each has an opinion. I talked to a shooting buddy, who was my teammate (we were the kiss of death sometimes). We were part of the Buy/Trade/Sell consolidation team. We had a good track record.
The specifics of the Remington deal, although a bit off subject, is this. Remington went into Bankruptcy and shut down all their operations. I have a friend that was a consultant in the Ilion, NY site and also two friends who matriculated to Remington and were VP's. I know a little about it. It appears that the "deal" took a little time to get through all the regulatory and permitting (Environmental, OSHA, local, etc) hoops. Remington has used the WARN protocols and all employees in AR and NY were terminated.
NOW (see NRA Article)...the ammo plant will be starting back up.....just this month. Remington shutting down (I have had a few Won't do Bang Remington....but I also had 5000 (case) CCI that would not properly eject from my Buck Mark Field Target and CCI replaced then entire 5000 rounds as they had the same FTFire issues....so as much as I like CCI SV, i had a bad experience with it....but CCI stood behind it and the tech said that it failed with the same ratio that I experienced.
Back on point....the AR Remington plant will start or is starting up now. The UMWA (Ilion, NY) has signed a letter of intent with the new REM-Arms folks....so Remington will be manufacturing guns again. BTW....that Ilion plant is huge....my buddy got lost one day and they walked him back via cellphone as he described where he is. They do NOT have an uptodate plant layout.
Here is the NRA article. Hopefully, with this plant coming online under VSTO Control, it will ramp up and also have a little better record....

Shape of things to come? Seller has a small (for now) price reduction. Am keeping my eye on this one.

Re: 22 ammo on GB
Aguila SE (250 round bulk packs) has been showing up at a local store here lately @$17.99/box....thats $71.96/1000. Not pre-panic prices but a lot better than above...
Still limited to one box/customer, but I subscribe to a friends & family program to help with my shopping.
