VV N310 in 148 WC Empty VV N310 in 148 WC

I was bored an was looking in the archives of the 148 gr. loads. I have loaded this round for years with Bullseye an WST. A year ago or so, I loaded up 200 rounds of 148 gr. Star WC, with 2.7 gr. of VV N310. Shooting in my S/W M52-1 pistol. No problems. Is there a problem using VV  N310 in this round ?Thanks, David H.

Admin,
I suggest moving this topic to Ammunition section of the forum.  Quite an interesting one!

Nope same problem as BE easy to double load so be careful. I find 2.6 works well in my M19.

I asked a few years ago.  There is one issue with N310 that caused Vihtavuori to stop listing loads for 310 in their loading guide.  That is that it goes from normal pressure to +P pressures in as little as 0.2 grains.  So it is VERY touchy about load.  For that reason, I do not recommend loading 38 HBWC with 310.  Not when you have so many other powders like BE, WST, Titegroup and others that are just as good.

I have been shooting 2.7gr N310 with Remington 148gr wadcutters in my 52-2 and find it enjoyable to shoot. To my surprise it has a softer recoil feel than similar rounds loaded with 2.8gr WST. Very accurate load.

It does get spooky when you approach max loads but I find it shines with reduced power loads in 9mm. In that application it's far from max loads and a good choice IMO. I sure wouldn't chase high velocity with it.
