If you go to your messages, does it say the space is full? If so, delete old messages.
Not sure if this will help, but worth a try.

Re: To much in storage space
Brian,
I have ongoing problems with uploading images and pasting text. Sought advice, cleared everything, no improvement. In desperation I created a fresh account with a different user name - voila! No problem with that account, I now have to remember to switch accounts when I need to include photos, etc.
YMMV

Re: To much in storage space
Let's make this something useful for all of us, and solve your problem at the same time.
How would you, or I, or anyone, be able to see how much "storage space" we are using on this forum?
I know about messages, and how to clear them out.
Apparently there are other places that use storage.
I'll try to find out what they are, and how to clear them.
Try this, with your old account.
Go to the HOME page, and click on PROFILE.
Scroll down to the bottom.
Look for "Data export".
Click on "export your data". Apparently it will take days for this to complete.
Follow the instructions.

Re: To much in storage space
Well, I did all that, and eventually found this.
One week from now, I should be able to find out what data I have on the forum website.
Try it yourself - maybe you'll find the source of your problem.

Data export
The generation of the archive containing your personal data is being processed...
It will be available for download during 24h from Sun Jul 11, 2021 9:23 am.

Re: To much in storage space
I never clear anything. I let new push out the oldest. I never have problems posting pictures. I only post pictures from my files on whatever device I'm using.

If the "new" pushes out the "old", why might radjag be running out of space?LenV wrote:I never clear anything. I let new push out the oldest. I never have problems posting pictures. I only post pictures from my files on whatever device I'm using.
.....and since he is running out of space, how can he delete whatever it is that is using the space?

What Jim said is what I'm trying to say. If you want to post a picture then download it first onto your phone, laptop, pad or whatever. Don't try to post a pdf or from the cloud. If it's in your picture's file it will post.

I didn't know I had to do it, but I've been doing it my way - copy or download the image into a folder on my computer, and then upload the image. If the image is on the web, I just copy the URL and use the forum tools to link to it.
As I see things, that's a very different situation from not having enough space.
BrianD, can you post here exactly what you do before you get that error message? Where is the 'pdf' file you want to upload?
If it's on the web, why not just link to it?

Re: To much in storage space
I have been out for a few days and missed this thread or I would have gotten to it sooner before the waters got so muddy with “helpful”, but for this situation, incorrect advice.
@BrianD, sending you a PM. I am crossing my fingers, but think I may have fixed this issue now or at least a major part of it.

What was the correct answer?
(Was it to send a PM to you?)

D. None of the above.

Currently, I think Brian ran up against the COMPLETE storage limit we had for attachments on the forum. Not his personal limit, but the entire forum limit. I reallocated the forum memory to increase overall capacity for attachments and he was able to get his PDF posted up.

Re: To much in storage space
If the problem is now solved, that's the end of it.
I'm puzzled though why others (myself included) have been able to post images....
(I know, I ask too many questions.)

Re: To much in storage space
Probably because you are using Servimg hosting, not the forum itself, for images.

Re: To much in storage space
Aha! Yes, then it all makes sense.
I never realized I had a choice - I either link to the images on my server, or use the tool to upload to the server.
Curious - do we have a preferred way to do this?
I guess I can cancel my "download data test".
