Extra parts to have on hand?
I'd like to start having extra parts on hand for when I eventually need to replace them.
What should I have on hand for:
S&W Models 14-6, 17-3 and 52-1
I know that parts for the Model 52 are hard to get and many are out of stock on Numrich Gun Parts....
Thanks!
Val

Just buy an extra gun of each model. Then you’re prepared for anything.

Find an extractor for the 52 and you are good.

Revolvers should just require a chamber brushing occasionally

Unless you abuse the revolvers, they should last a very long time.
For the 52-1 you need a spare extractor, and at least a spare Mag (total of 3).

There's the rub...finding an extra extractor. Numrich is out of stock.

Doesn’t the 52 backup the 14?

If you are concerned about parts availability for a certain gun, that may not be the best competitive choice. This is totally coming from someone who has the two is one and one is none philosophy though.
