SOLD S&W 25-2 (model of 1955) Empty SOLD S&W 25-2 (model of 1955)

Post by RoyDean 8/5/2021, 10:59 pm

I bought this only about a year ago, shoots lovely, but I now realise that (unlike Len V) my hands are just not big enough to comfortably Double Action it in TF/RF. I am now in a "ruthless downsizing" mode and so this, sadly, has to go.

I do not have the original box, it will be shipped in a new Flambeau hard case. Comes with two packs of 4 RIMZ glass reinforced polymer moon clips (much, much easier to load and strip ammo) and two Wilson Combat blued steel moon clips (OK, Len V, I guess that you have no difficulty loading and stripping these!). Plus an almost as new EGW S&W Revolver K2219 picatinny rail (probably got the OEM packaging for that - will check tomorrow). And the holster that came with it when I bought it.

The gun is in very nice condition - it has been used, but not abused, as far as I can tell. Target hammer and trigger. Nice wood grips. very light turn ring and no significant marks on the rest of the gun. Sights are sharp.

It owes me about $850. I would like to get that back + ground shipping CONUS from my FFL to yours. $880 by USPS Money Order or Cashier Check please. PM me.

I tried two aftermarket rubber grips - see separate listing.

KC, thanks for saving me from this. I was tempted to add another to my collection (which I don't have time to shoot anyway).

Ladies and gents, what diameter bullet do you use in your 25-2? A standard sized .45 bullet will drop through the (cylinder's) chambers with no hesitation on my 25-2 Model of 1955. Which is why I am hesitant to shoot it (besides my physical injuries, but that is a different story).

.454

Various diameters available from Brazos and others.
.452 worked fine in mine though

I have a very early 1955 model.  Serial number indicates 1955, but S&W letter says it was shipped to Hawaii in 1957.  The cylinder is properly sized.  Here are two groups fired offhand iron sights at 50.  I moved the sights and posted a new centre between shooting these a while back before my back went out.  Shot #1 of 10 was ~5"above the 4.  Sight adjusted down and then the 4.  Sight adjust and then the 5.  200gr Hornady JSWC, 4.8 BE, AR brass.

CR
Cecil,

Do you use the std .452 diameter? Or something larger?
