For Sale: Springfield Armory 1911 “Mil Spec” that was turned into a Wad Gun.

I bought this gun brand new around 2017 as a base for a wadgun build. I gutted it, and sent it off to Jon Eulette. He fitted a Kart barrel, an EGW barrel bushing, EGW slide stop pin, had the frame rails welded up, and he refit the slide back on to the frame. He also mounted a Marvel scope base to the slide.

Eventually I removed the Mil Spec grip safety and fit the extended grip safety myself. It is comfortable. No edges rubbing into the hand. It’s just cold blued. I also filed on the area where you would undercut the trigger gaurd to make my finger placement there more comfortable. The gun is in the white in that area. Grip tape on the front strap, it is not checkered.

Current control fire group parts are EGW hammer, sear, and disconnector, Greider trigger, longish roll feel - it’s subjective to the shooters interpretation. This gun isn’t a beauty pageant model. It’s a shooter. It’s the gun I started on, it’s the gun that I made high master on, and it’s the gun I shot all the way up to when I got to the AMU and started shooting government equipment.

$1600 for the gun, four mags, and the 1” Ultradot.

$1500 without the Ultradot

I am not a good sand bag shooter but here is a ten shot target I shot at 50 yards yesterday with Atlanta Arms 185gr JHP ammunition. I’m sure it’ll do better from a machine rest testing fixture. And I’ve never shot my work guns any better than this gun. This gun will flat shoot.

I changed the post a couple of times from four mags to three and back to four. I had lost one but found it. Four mags goes with the gun.

Not sure why this hasn’t sold yet. This is like a championship show dog, it has an outstanding pedigree. It’s a shooter, been worked on and rebuilt by the best, with a fantastic trigger.

If it’s good enough for Jason to make High Master with and subsequently be invited to join the AMU then I’d say there is your proof.

I would need to convince both Mrs. Bickar and the State of California.

Free bump for a good gun at a good price.

Jon, IRRC the mil-spec model is actually on the California roster, so you only need to convince Mrs. Bickar Smile

For those concerned about wear due to the undoubtedly high round count, the way Jon fits barrels they wear super slowly, there is so much contact area rubbing when the barrel is going in and out of battery, so the surfaces receive less stress collectively. My ball gun shot a 1" 10x 50yd ransom target years and many thousands of rounds of abuse after Jon rebarreled it. So rest assured there are plenty of X's left in this one as well.

Had a couple of people that were interested but no sale yet. Still up for grabs.

This gun had about two seasons or less of shooting, then it became a very seldom used training gun in conjunction with what I use at work. Low mileage if you will.

Can't believe this has lasted as long as it has. If I hadn't just bought a really nice RRA a few weeks back to serve as a backup for one of Jon's custom 45's I would have snapped this up. Jon does some of the best work you can buy. Been here like 6 years and rarely see any of his guns for sale.
