Re: Dillon XL750 Shaving Brass
Your flair on the brass is to large, so the expanding die is shaving the brass. Try less flair and see the problem goes away.

Also, ck the redding crimp die, if.you are loading super clean or new brass, it has a tendency yo gall and shave brass. I learned this the hard way...

I second that it's either coming from the expander or, more likely, the crimp die. In my experience the dies tend to break in and this problem gets better with time.

If reducing the flare doesn't solve your problem, it may be a misalignment in the platform assembly. Dillon makes a tool for aligning these components. You can probably get one from Dillon for free, but they have a long wait list. Call them first.
If the wait is too long, I have an extra. Check your PM.

That looks like an excessive amount of shavings for 50 cartridges. I also load on a 750 with Redding dies, except my crimp happens to be Dillon and my PTU is PhotoEscape. I Might get that much from 500. Is it new brass?

It is not new The brass has been reloaded 10 times
I reduced the flare to a minimum, to a point where the bullet has a tough time sitting up straight in the case.

I would vote for it being the crimping die.
A Lee Factory Crimp die might be easier on the brass. You may still get a shaving every now and then.

Do you use case lube before reloading?

I did not with this batch of brass. These were reloaded 10+ times. The dies are Redding carbide.
