I'm still looking for the BME Hammerli 208 Mount for the Fastfire III. Been trying to get one from John for over 2 years.

Will pay top dollar.

Thanks!

Every time I call John about buying one he says to check back in two months, been saying that for years. Maybe if we can get enough orders for them he will start again, put me down for one also.

I too have been looking.
Only found one and seller wanted way to much.
Last I talked to him he said to call end of January.
Maybe start a list here and see if we get enough to warrant him making more.

I too have been in conversation with John since the last 4 years for a mount for a Hammerli 208. He is not keeping well and his CNC machine is busted, I think. I offered to make them for him and he can sell them on so I do not violate any of his intellectual property rights.
However, if anyone would like a mount machined I can get it done in India. May not be much cheaper but quality will be perfect.

While small, I do believe there is a market. Smaller so when option for differing sights.
I have the Untradot micro.

If BME is (for practical purposes) shut down, then there isn’t likely much chance of him pursuing an intellectual property case.  However, that said, paying a small royalty to assuage the infraction would likely be much appreciated.  These type of designs don’t lend themselves to
Patenting as they are essentially just a “bracket” or “doo-dad” as some engineers call them.  The interface with the optic is defined by the optic maker, and the interface with the gun is defined by the gun itself.   So essentially, this design, like other mounts, is not patentable.  There isn’t much trade secret either.

Or just buy the mount from Red Feather with the standard rail and use the mount, yes it's taller but shouldn't be too bad. I've got a 9000SC on one and love it.

I'd be up for that. Cost isn't too important, quality/utility is.

I've been had the same experience as you guys. Been calling him occasionally for a few years now and always the same reply, "CNC broken, try again later".

I am not looking at the strict legal angle. I would like to ensure that someone like John gets some credit and financial reward for his work over the years.
I would consider paying him a percentage of the costs that I charge for machining parts in India.

If anyone needs a mount please send me a drawing (detailed) or even a sample and I can get this machined here.
The best option would be to see if others need a similar mount and then it would be easier and cheaper to make more than one mount.
Since I have a Hammerli 208 I can guarantee the fitting to the 208. If for some reason the optic does not fit I will fix it or refund the money.

As I said in an earlier post, if more than one are needed it would be simpler and cheaper. I will guarantee fit on the 208 and if the optic does not fit I will fix it or refund the money.

Yes I can and will do this but maybe I did not make myself clear. I DO NOT have a sample to work from. I need either a physical sample or a detailed drawing which I can then reproduce.
If you have a sample please let me know or if some one can send me the drawings for this.
I can make the base which would fit in place of the Hammerli 208 rear sight.

I'm sure the only person that has a legit drawing is John at BME. Maybe he'll send you one. He doesn't seem interested in making the sight any more.

I'm also interested in reversing engineering and making some of these . Is anyone interested in sending me one to reverse engineer, solid model and make?  If  so please send me a PM or give me a call.  I'm located in NW part of NC .

 Thanks

I have a 208. For the rear sight mount, would it not be easier to design or set a picatinny rail there. Then Aimpoint, Ultradot, everything could feasibly mount to it.

UPDATE.
Each time I called BME, I was told "Call back in a few months".
Have been doing that.
Spoke with him this past October.
His health is declining, machining is no longer practical and he said he is effectively out of the business.
He will not be making any product going forward and politely said so no more need to call.

I too am up to options.

I got through with email. His wife called me back yesterday. Her husband died three weeks ago. I wanted a doctor mount for my model 52. The only thing available was the full rail which I plan on cutting down.
