Anyone here interested in an STI Edge .38 Super?
I bought this pistol new in late 2016. I had FTF problems using anything other than Atlanta Arms Elite ammo (which has a somewhat shorter OAL than most other brands) and sent it back to STI for "fine tuning". It took two trips to get things right and I ended up with both a Recoil Master system and a Dawson Precision tool-less guide rod and three recoil springs to handle different loads from minor power factor to major power factor. As fate would have it, I never got to use it in competition due to physical problems. It has less than 600 rounds fired and has been sitting in my safe for several years. You won't find these on Guns International or Gunbroker because the folks who have them apparently don't sell them. I've got mine listed at $1800 in my firearm inventory. PM me if interested.
Jim E.
PS:I've never sold anything here, but I think I can safely use Steve Huff as a character reference.

As far as I know STI history, based on the way slide stop is cut this is when they moved away from utilizing MIM parts for controls. Should be no MIM. Having owned similar STI Eagle I can attest that this is a well built gun. Grip can be cleaned up and worked on. Here is what I did with mine. Looked awesome and felt miles better.

Well, this gun was designed for IDPA, IPSC, and USPSA "run and gun" competition and it's a 2011, double stack magazine design, not a 1911. My guess is that it wouldn't be legal for CMP or NRA precision pistol events, even if it could be altered for wadcutter ammo. Someone else here could probably quote the NRA/CMP rules on that faster than I could look them up.

Follow-up to my last. I just checked on my magazines for the STI and I actually only have 3 mags for it - forgot I sold 3 that I originally bought. I have two 17 rd. mags and one 23 rd. mag. Loaded up with Atlanta Arms 125 gr. JHP, major power factor loads (1450 fps), it makes one helluva good home defense pistol. But I have more than enough firepower for use in that department using other firearms in my inventory - including nine 1911s in three calibers.

I'll try to take some better pics later today. I will say that there is not a single blemish on this gun. If there were any, I would identify them and discount the price accordingly.
I have two different STI mag wells for this gun. It currently has the tactical well installed which is a little smaller than the competition version that came with it.

Three things:
1. In trying to take better pictures I've discovered a tiny bright spot on the left side of the dust cover which is, indeed, a blemish. I can probably touch it up but fear that "the cure may be worse than the disease".
2. I've reviewed the rules for posting items for sale here and I may be in violation since my pistol is not a bullseye or precision pistol as defined by the CMP or the NRA. Therefore, I ask a moderator to remove my original posting for this pistol. Anyone who still has any interest can contact me privately (?) at my email address - jnedwards43@gmail.com.
3. I hope to have better photos available by tomorrow but had to deal with a lost tooth crown today.

What rule are you using to say this can’t be used for nra precision pistol or cmp match pistol? The trigger weight has to be at least 2.5 pounds and the nra says the grip safety has to work. It isn’t a cmp service pistol but I’m not sure why they wouldn’t put it on the list with a 4 pound trigger.

I freely admitted that i didn't know if it was or wasn't permitted and I haven't taken the time to look it up. I honestly don't care and only offered it here if someone might want it for the use it was built for. It's pretty obvious that there isn't any serious interest so I'll list it elsewhere. End of story.
