CCI Small Pistol Magnum Primers #550 Available

During past primer shortages, SPM primers were the only ones on the shelves. Am I missing something or is .357 mag the only application for this primer?

Magnum SPP can be used pretty much on every caliber given proper testing is done.  No difference with LPP to that respect.  For that matter regular and magnum SRP also can be used in handgun loads with same stipulations, plus making sure that firing pin has enough "juice" to punch through thicker cap.

Hmmm, a pierced primer with every high-pressure shot.  Gotta be hard on firing pins.  

Seriously, a better description might be "plus making sure the priming compound ignites from the firing pin strike on the thicker cup material."
