New Accu-Lock 1911's in stock Empty New Accu-Lock 1911's in stock

Post by DavidR 12/9/2013, 12:06 pm

Some may know that i am a FFL dealer, But I am also now a Dealer for the Hand Built Accu-Lock Pistols. These are products of Travis Strahan who is a member of the American Pistol Smiths Guild, not many Bullseye builders have that distinction that still produce guns for our sport. Today I received  two brand new Accu-lock 1911 45 acp target pistols that were just delivered. These are complete and ready to ship.
Both come with 1'' ultra dots, two tuned mags, deluxe padded range bag and each was accuracy tested by Bullseye legend Herschel Anderson and come with a test target signed by him.
One is built on a Springfield Armory National Match 70 series frame and slide, the other on a Colt 70 series frame and slide.
Test target for Colt is 1.265'' @ 50 yards with hand loaded ammo, Springfield is 1.15'' @ 50 yards with hand loaded ammo. Load info will be provided so you can duplicate it if you wish too. Your choice of grips, wood or Sharkskin texture, UD box and extras included.
Price includes shipping to your FFL, Accu-Lock will entertain one trade in gun per purchase.
5675.00  If interested contact here or hwy92gun@bellsouth.net
If you want one of the finest built Bullseye guns in the world that will hold its tight group size year after year, nothing compares to a Accu-lock.
If your not familiar with the Accu-Lock, check out the website here. http://www.accu-lockpistols.com/

Larry Carter owned one that shot a sub 1” test group. I’ve seen the gun and know where it currently resides.

It seems like a great design. I would love to shoot one and maybe buy one some day.

I have seen and handled one before but did not shoot it. Definitely cool, lots of subtle and not so subtle differences from a more standard build. I don’t know if it has many real advantages over a more standard build but definitely cool and unique.

Frank Goza used to shoot one at Asheville. 2650 shooter, at least. Gun doesn't make the shooter, but you can't shoot targets like he did with a scattergun either.

We scored each other at least once. He tried to explain visualization to me, and I still try to do it.

I wonder If David takes horses on trade.

I wonder if my wife would notice them missing.

Have seen many guns shoot sub inch 5 shot groups at 50 yards. Easily done with Federal Match years ago. 10 shots is reality check. Keefer shot 30!

Hello,

I had a conversation years ago, with Jerry Keefer, regarding the Accu-Lock system.  He attributed its accuracy to the quality of the barrels used and not much more.  He wasn't much of a believer.

Locking up muzzle; bushing, cone, bull, accu-lock, etc. Done right they all shoot well provided the rest of the barrel is fit right.
Accu-lock has large chunk of steel adding some extra mass to the muzzle.  Other methods do the same thing.  No advantages over bushing, etc. Trigger puller has more affect than anything.

I don’t disagree. But I’ve seen the 10 shot target - not five. And I’ve seen other build ideas/designs shoot well too. Just saying it wasn’t a measly 5 shot group is all. Five shots doesn’t tell you that the sixth won’t be a flyer. 😂

We would often shoot 30 shot PPC test targets, equals what was expected from a maximum stage.

Jon,

Im trying to up my scores. Are there any adjustments to the stock trigger puller that can be done?  Or do you recommend replacing it with an aftermarket non-MIM trigger puller? Drop in or gunsmith fit?

Thanks
Rod

Non-MIM trigger puller? What are you the tin man? Most trigger pullers I know are composite.

I recently pick one up at an auction. An Accu-Lock M1991A1 and a Norinco ball gun for $1000. No one else at the auction must have known what they were bidding on. Anyhow, I've shot 50 rounds through mine so far, at 25 yards. The first 5 shot group were all X's using a two have hold. Things went downhill when I shot one handed, but that was me. Very accurate pistols, and a very unique design. Very heavy pistols, but I think I could get used to that.
