9mm 1911 Ramp: Para/Clark or Wilson/Nowlin?
Which ramp style do most bullseye gunsmiths prefer for a 9mm 1911? Clark/Para or Wilson/Nowlin?
A quick internet search suggests that the CP ramp is both stronger and easier to machine for than the WN ramp. If this is true, does the WN pattern have any advantages that would make it worth the extra work?
Also, does getting the best barrel fit require having the gunsmith mill the ramp cut in the frame himself or does a pre-cut frame work just as well?

My SA RO 9mm has the W-N ramp on a Fusion 5" (government) barrel. The frame is designed for that barrel/ramp. No problems feeding JHPs and Hi-Tek coated rounds.

Clark/Para is easier to machine because both cuts can be made in one set up, i.e. the frame is parallel to the X axis. Wilson/Nowlin requires setting the frame vertically for the second cut. Other than that, I don't see any differences between the two.
Pre-cut frame may or may not work, you'll never know until you have all parts and can measure them precisely. For this reason personally I prefer to start with the standard frame and cut it to the correct dimensions.

Mine is a W/N ramp on a frame that was “pre-cut”. I have not yet fit a C/P ramp yet, but I can’t really see any major functional difference between the two outside of the frame cut procedure previously mentioned. I don’t run crazy wildcat hot loads though.

I was told by Joe Chambers the Clark is better for BE because they lock up better. That is a decision made before the build because the frames are cut different.
