LabRadar Help Empty LabRadar Help

Post by fc60 8/1/2024, 4:22 pm

Greetings,

I have the big LabRadar that has the SD Card storage.

Great tool. I have lots of data. Currently up to Series 0534.

Problem, the card became corrupt and upon booting up the LabRadar went to a previous Series???

Removing the SD Card and viewing it via my LapTop, I found two bogus looking file names with bad dates.

Four hours later, I managed to correct the file names and date stamps.

Inserting the SD Card into the LabRadar it boots up and goes to the correct series.

I would like to learn how to start with a new SD Card and rename the default SR0001 folder to whatever number I choose (SR0001-SR9999)

Just renaming the folder on the LapTop does not work. When you insert the card, Labradar creates a new SR0001 Folder and renames my folder with a bogus date stamp.

Thus far, LabRadar tech support is not useful. They did respond to my original plea for help and pointed me to the corrupt folders; but, follow up emails have gone unanswered.

I am a fairly good Hacker with Linux and command line experience. For you knowledgeable types I have learned the "touch" command.

If you have a solution, please contact me offline. Once the process is tested and verified, I will gladly post it for all to see.

Cheers,

Dave

LabRadar Help Regular_expressions

I do have a LabRadar, and am passable with the CLI. I have not encountered the issue that you described. I back my SD card up to local and "the Cloud", because I don't trust SD cards.

I wonder if you could create 534 empty directories on a reformatted SD card and trick it into 0535...

I don't have my LabRadar SD card in front of me at the computer right now. I am wondering if there is a binary metadata file that we might be missing in our calculations.

Perl + regex - the ultimate in write only code. The author him/herself will find it impenetrable as soon as it's typed.

My last pass at Perl was approximately 2016 or 2017, and even then I was like, "why am I learning Perl? Hard tabs? WTF is this?"

I'm more than passable at regex, although these days I will confess that I refer to ChatGPT for a little help. I still rock the t-shirt, though, because I do know regular expressions.

Our friend fc60 is looking for help. Let's give him some. He's given more than enough back to the Bullseye community.

Hmm, John, I guess you just accidentally revealed the secret of your good shooting Smile You just aim and then call `regexReplace(target, "[^Xx]", "X")` and pull the trigger, right?

I'm more of a sed guy.

Code:
sed -i "" 's/[0,5,6,7,8,9,10]/X/g'

Yeah, so ...

I assume you've seen the 'attire' of the Turk' who took Silver in Air Pistol?

I also saw he's a cat lover ... man after my own heart.

Mowed my airgun range the other day... and then 'stuff' happened, so still haven't fired a rd in over 2 years.

Plus: I've likely forgotten a few bad habits.

Minus: The essential tremors are as bad or worse than ever.

As for the chrono' ... my Chrony is adequate, but I'm afraid I'll eventually be shot in the back of the head for wasting 10 minutes of someone's range time setting it up.

'But, Your Honor, he needed killin' ... is a legitimate defense here in Texas.

LabRadar Help Empty Re: LabRadar Help

Post by Chase Turner 8/2/2024, 7:59 pm

For anyone who finds this thread in the future:

I believe the answer is contained in the .LBR file, but reading that particular file without knowing the format is probably an exercise in futility. You can test it yourself by removing the file and booting up the labradar- the absence of that series (though all other series files and that series folder are still there) should be the result. At least, it was when I tested this theory out a few firmware updates ago.

Did wonder if the file extension is really a .LBR type file, but the answer is no. It also isn't hex, and the various sniffers with python don't return any particular file type. Examined the file with vi, and it is just gibberish. Also don't think it is a compressed file, but could be wrong on that. What little I know about embedded software and systems makes me think that it is probably one half of the runfile; the Labradar can read it to know what to put into its side of the equation to display results on the screen/csv, and then increment the count that way when creating the latest series. That's my hunch, anyway.

Here is the output from one of my files:

Very pretty.

Did find it beneficial to review the ChronoPlotter source code when I was working on scripting out what I wanted from the CSVs. Don't know that the guy ever used the .LBR file or not for his app, but one could always ask him- maybe he knows?

It's a binary file. As far as I can tell the second 16 bit word is a big endian number which should correspond to the series number. I've sent Dave a file to test. I use a Garmin so I can't test the theory myself. I can tease a certain amount of structure out of it.

WesG,

Just to add some perspective. FC60 routinely addresses me as "young Roy" and I am approaching 69! But he, like me, was born in England, so we have a lot to answer for!

Errm I seem to think that 1812 was you tax dodgers trying to steal Canada and getting your capital city burned down as a result.

Best definition of that conflict I heard was
The Americans think they won it
The Canadians know they won it
The Brits have no idea that it happened.

Post by fc60 8/3/2024, 12:54 pm

Greetings,

I checked my current archive of test targets (scanned targets and a few text files.)

8717 files

1357 sub folders.

My LabRadar disk is currently at record SR0535...

6880 files

1043 sub folders

A lot of testing, yes. However, it is good to go back and scan the results time to time.

Cheers,

Dave, I've used a Labradar for several years and I like it.  Knowing you I have to believe you tested it against your former chronograph equipment.  How did that turn out?
