Summers Enterprises sold
Possibly the best "store bought" cast bullets I've ever purchased. Certainly the least variation in weight: 500 of the 200gr. LSWC .45 bullets I bought recently had only about one grain +/- distribution. Didn't bother weighing the other 500.
Figured I'd get some more only to find he sold his equipment to another fellow:

"I wish to thank all of you for your business over the last 10 years. I have sold my business to Terry Bishop of Memphis, TN. Terry is a just-retired Lieutenant of the Shelby County Sheriff's Department. He has been a Tennessee State and regional Champion in SASS competitions. His phone number is 1-901-831-3676. He is buying my equipment and inventory...."

Re: Summers Enterprises sold
Caveat emptor. Saw this happen with Quality Cast a number of years ago and from everything I heard, quality (heh) went down the drain when it got sold to new ownership.
Then Bob went and started up Bob’s Bullets, which were as good as if not better than his earlier efforts at Quality Cast, but that org is out of the business now as well. (Bob’s still mad that I peed on him when I was an infant. I think he’s gotten over the garter snake prank I pulled on him, as well as the “this is a Distinguished earring” snark I laid on him one time when he made fun of my pierced ear.)
Hope it works out well. There’s both art and science to making good cast bullets. I don’t think there’s much money to be made as a business venture.

It seems that most casting operations are more so a race to the floor of price. It seems a tale as old as time that groups that make great bullets have some sort of change in priority and the end product changes.
Dual sourcing seems to be getting harder.

Hopefully quality will remain the same.
We still have Magnus (love the #801) at https://www.magnusbullets.com/ Give Terry a call, he can get you some quality bullets.
I'm also fond of Tony at The Cast Bullet Shop: https://www.thecastbulletshop.com/ Give Tony a shout, he can also get you some quality bullets.

Chase,
Checked "Cast Bullet Shop's site....."designed as easy to use" but I couldn't get past that page?? What am I missing? Interested in a source for 45 160 SWC.
Thanks,

I never micturated upon you when I was an infant, did I, old friend?
Forgive me, my memory is a little bit hazy from those days.
If I did, I apologize. I'm still working on controlling my urination. These things take time.

Re: Summers Enterprises sold
I lost that battle ...
Some of what *might* be involved with casting businesses...
Lead poisoning...
I've 'heard' of several that have shut down, mainiy rifle suppliers...
Which if you think about it ... are probably trivial qty's, although maybe equal in weight, relative to pistol.

Ron,
The 45 bullet list is here:https://www.thecastbulletshop.com/45-caliberhandgun-19
Instructions for ordering are here:https://www.thecastbulletshop.com/ordering-and-shipping-32/how-to-order-7725
The site doesn't use a cart feature, so if you were expecting one, that could be the source of your trouble. Email or call Tony, he can get you set up with some 160s I'm sure.
Thanks,
Chase

I had to look this up. Now I’m curious who thought that we needed ANOTHER word for urinate. Even if micturate is older; same question.

I’ve only communicated with Terry via email, but placed an order for 4k 180 gr swc and 10k 200 gr swc.rich.tullo wrote:Anyone try the new guy spoke to him on the phone seemed knowledgeable and if he was trained by Donny he should be ok.
So far, all seems normal. Order placed, ships with tracking, leaves the local post office and falls into the abyss. I’m expecting the boxes sometime between today and mid January

I’d like to find the individual(s) responsible for the temper tantrum at whatever post office causes this delay with every single shipment…

Glad to learn that I am not the only person experiencing "disappearing" tracking... then shows up randomly at my door.

Micturate has a desiderative connotation: it means "urinate" and the "desire to urinate". Huh, I learned something new today...

Re: Summers Enterprises sold
This happens to me on big/ heavy boxes. The package will arrive just before the allotted time to pay out the insurance claim. I was talking to a vendor who said as much; they go through the process of submitting the claim paperwork on a lot of their heavy packages. They usually arrive but they get set off to the side until the absolute last trip.RodJ… wrote:

I always give my local PO a heads up and ask them to call me when the delivery truck arrives and I will do all the moving. I live in a very small town…and the grief they give me over the PROSPECT of a heavy package arriving is amazing. I always wonder to myself, as I’m driving home, why in the hell I continue to give them a heads up, but I still do every single time.

Our Postman is former Army. We kid because he wonders why I need so many fishing weights. We always leave him a "package" (and card) this time of year, aged at least 12 years.
