I heard from a little birdie that a large, three letter organization is bringing its national championships to a little venue smackdab in the middle of Ohio...

I heard similar. NRA HP competitors' meeting is what I caught.

Mommy and Daddy aren't getting back together, but we kids might get to spend Christmas with both Mommy and Daddy at Mommy's house.

Yeah, I'm excited that the Triple Crown will now include TWO national championship matches...

I don't think they are talking about moving the parallel matches to OH. They ate talking about going back to CP and having one National Championship that would be jointly sponsored by the NRA and CMP.

The rumor I heard from very reliable sources is that the NRA is moving from Atterbury to Cardinal. No more 4 gun, but the NRA National Championships to kick off the Triple Crown.

I don't know anything outside of speculation, however, the egos involved with both the NRA and CMP would probably make it impossible to go back to a joint event. Which group being responsible for what part or components of the event would be a nightmare, add the ONG in to the mix too and let the challenges start. 

I think the rumors of the NRA moving on from Atterbury is pretty telling of poor leadership decisions on their part. The NRA competitions department is effectively a fragile shell of a small number of people, and they have not been successful at any corrective action to revive it.  On one of the FB groups their was discussions of the 2600, 2650, and 2670 clubs, in which the lack of record keeping and reporting was lack luster at best. Likewise NRA Distinguished Revolver is just as bad if not worse. Where can one find a list of those who recently became distinguished or who received points? Far more issues around than where the NRA is going to have their Nationals.

Well hopefully I'll force their hand to get the DR list updated. I should've legged out four months ago. Been emailing them. Whenever I get my status updated, I'll ask about posting an updated list of Distinguished and contenders.

The NRA's agreement with Atterbury lasts another three years, I think. At the pistol competitors meeting in July, Wes Fleming suggested moving the NRA Nationals to Cardinal as the Cardinal matches are ... gone?

The timing wasn't discussed specifically but my impression wasn't that it would be immediate (i.e., not 2025). Nor was the scope of any move; that is, whether smallbore and high power would be coming along too.

As one of Daddy's new kiddos, I am fond of the country house and don't even like thinking about moving away, no matter how nice the birdhouse might be. (I have heard it is amazing and hope to visit someday.)

I don't see high power at Cardinal.

Several years ago when Cardinal first started pushing to get the nationals, it was stated that pistol and smallbore were fine but they did not have, and could not have, enough room for highpower.

When I heard about the discussion at the HPR competitors' meeting I hoped they were talking about all disciplines going back to Perry. I still hope, but the rumors about discussions with Cardinal seem to be serious.

Looks like an announcement has been made, but no specific locations for 2025 yet.

Is it now a postal match of sorts where the results are determined after multiple matches held throughout the country, are collected?  That’s an awful big trophy to have to ship out to someone.   I’m confused.
