11/16 - 24 according to Lee, I had no idea Lee made dies for the Star press.
(at least until 2020)

Re: What is the Star loader die size and thread
Greetings,
I have machined hundreds of dies.
11/16-24 UNEF for the die bodies.
1/2-27 UNS for the powder spout
3/8-24 UNF for the seating stems on larger calibers.
5/16-32 UNEF for the smaller seating stem calibers.
The powder hopper thread is a tapered thread. 9/16-27
Star made all their own dies with the exception of the Carbide sizers. Those were made by either Shockey (Perfection) or LifeTyme.
After Star sold to Bill Cunningham, the dies were made by a variety of vendors.
Cheers,
Dave

27 TPI a 'pipe thread'? Tapered *AND* Straight are a 'thing'. OD NEVER even close to the stated dimension. Stupid ...
Conversation with a 'foreigner' about our stupidity with pipe threads... 'so how do you spec pipes in your country?'
'Millimeters' ...

Greetings,
Star Machine Works primary products were sprinkler devices for the local citrus growers market.
They made reloaders as a side line.
Yes, 27 pitch is common in pipe threading.
Cheers,
Dave

This brings back memories. Turned down a set of 38 super Lee dies for the Star maybe 36 years ago. Also found a Star head that was converted to standard dies. Not sure where or why Dad did this way back then. I've never used that head as I have his 3 machines and numerous Star dies for various calibers.

Bumbling into this again ...
11/16-24 .... Super Blackhawk barrel thread?
I have a tap for that. No use for it now that I've rebuilt the thing and set the barrel back a turn.
Anyone need it? Might take a couple trips back to Ca before I remember, so be patient.

Tap? The barrel would take a die. Yes I could use a die thanks

Yes, LifeTyme Star Dies used 7/16-27 on 38 and smaller caliber decapping rods.
For the larger calibers the thread is 1/2-27.
To make it more interesting, the Perfection Dies used a different thread for the decapping rods.
Cheers,
Dave

Cleaned up the frame ... scraped a bit of crud out ... and then reworked virtually every other surface that mattered.
Lathe, mill, EDM ...
Amazing how little crud you get on your hands when the barrel/cylinder gap is .001". Like, basically ... zero.
