NRA National Pistol Championships to Cardinal

I have checked the NRA website and the Cardinal website and nothing is published about this. Is this going to happen?

I think it is just called the canton match, or maybe the canton McKinley match.

According to Dane Hogle via the above  and personal communication that deal to bring the NRA Championships was JUST finalized, therefore I doubt you would find it in print or online just yet. It is happening!

It is the Frank J. Bickar Memorial CMP Championship.

For, well, going on probably 50 years now, the Canton McKinley Rifle and Pistol Club has worked to provide the greatest Bullseye Pistol match experience on the planet. That was Frank's vision, and why the match is named in his honor.

Over the course of those 50 years, I have seen some contenders come and go. The more the merrier, I say. Everybody should run an awesome Bullseye Pistol match. Lobsters in Maine, smoked BBQ and a low-country boil in SC, shoot-two-2700s-plus-every-International-event-in-one-week in AZ, catch fish every afternoon in Indiana after shooting a 900 at Camp Atterbury. I like to see the sport thrive.

I try to run two awesome matches every year in California. We'll feed you; come on out. If you can find a place better-situated to shoot a PB, I'm on the first plane there.

We appreciate everyone's patronage of our match at Canton; we couldn't do it without you.

See y'all in Canton next year.

i just meant how to search for it on the nra website, there isn't a bickar ohio or bickar anywhere i don't think. glad it is a nice match.

I have four Bickars within arm's length, and I have verifiable proof that there was a Bickar in Ohio as recently as July.

It looks like I will get to see Cardinal! But I miss the view and surrounding report of machine guns and artillery from my two trips to Atterbury

i admit that I was in local 1, and did not have all the ins and outs of best writting. my apologies. i worked for a living, started with boilermakers and retired in pipefitting. Lost the wife when my daughter was 10 and my son 8, but did the best i could and got lucky with the in;aws to help me. thank christ for nancy and walt, saevd my bacon more than i could repay. but i did work for a living, and my kids ended up great, one teaching here and the other in alabama. smart like there mother. don't think you could understand any of that, as you know so much.

Dane, is the NRA sending staff in for this event, or is going to be me and Tony running the Stat Office until 8PM again?

Time will tell, as both NRA and Cardinal have people who can make significant contributions to conduct a professional and well run match!

Neither of us ever really raised our hands, but we did get results out for competitors by the end of each day this year.

Cardinal was odd this year. Many organizational changes shortly before the match. Tail end of a hurricane blew in. Things went sideways; it happens.



Looking forward to next year. I'm hoping that the NRA will bring some logistical heft.

Let's clear some smog here, folks!  And I encourage everyone to forger about PC and other BS!  This is my 30K view, I do not pretend to be 100% correct or accurate.  Yet......... take John's "I got fired 'cause management was restructuring" clip to the heart!

So, with Hendu (Jim Henderson) taking on the bigger role at CMP (and leaving amid things), Dane being PO-fed at NRA, Cardinal, OH state folks and everyone else, Grace (she is the engine behind it all, IMHO!) leaving to count cows in WI, Chris and other OH folks at Cardinal left without clear guidance as to what leg to move next, Tony and John had no choice but to step in for the benefit of the all shooters.  They had group of helpers too, and "new" guys put their efforts in way above 100%, - don't remember the name, but there was a young fellow who literally was the first in in the morning and last out in the evening.  Kudos to all for 2024 Cardinal match that was destine to be a great disaster and ended up just fine.

Thus, with NRA back to pulling its head out of ....., Dane seem to be more interested and engaged, Cardinal folks gaining experience I really hope that Cardinal 2025 will be a banner match.  You can count on me coming!  And I am sure, that Tony and John will be there and ready to help!

Ok people…
It is November… so relax a bit. The dates above are real so you can get that vacation request in as soon as you needed. 
As for the NRA NPC’s, Cardinal is working on making this match one to remember. More food, more help, more everything… and that takes time to get. Cardinal has a plan. 
If you didn’t know, this is the 8th and 9th national championship that
Is held at Cardinal every year. ( yes, Cardinal also will host the NRA Smallbore nationals.)
