     c) The pistol may have asymmetrical, orthopedic, or specially shaped grips



If I'm reading this correctly, I can have grips like air pistols /w a long tail for support? Like this?

Yes. Grips can be like an air pistol or international sport pistol.

Not intending to "steal Bill's thunder"! But here is an illustration of Pardini and Rink versions. The "short" tail is typical for ISSF compliance. The "long" tail for EIC and Bullseye. And, of course, upswept palm shelves, thumb rest and "cut & putty" are all OK for EIC and Bullseye.

I think that the NRA Pistol Rules mention the limit of Beavertail extension - just short of wrist joint IIRC.
