Inexpensive yet good option for a bullet feeder for progressive reloading press
So many have helped me figure out which press to purchase and how to set it up. I thought perhaps i might be able to help others with a recent purchase that seems to be a good value addition.
I purchased a Dillon XL750 when Dillon had a sale that included at no additional cost the case feeder. I looked at some bullet feeding tools but they're pretty expensive. I took a chance and purchased from Lee Precision their inline bullet feed kit. The kit is a very simple design that consists of 5 clear tubes that hold the projectiles. The tubes are mounted on a manifold that one advances manually to access subsequent filled tubes. The manifold attaches to the included bullet feed die.
I use the Dillon XL750 powder measure along with their case feeder and primer alert device.... and while they are located close to each other, they all fit and work together fine.
I've only tried it so far with only a single type of projectile, a coated 125 grain 9mm, and it works well.
It did take me a good 15 minutes or so to get the kit dialed in, I'm pretty new at this. That said, for the aforementioned projectile i'm pleased.
The kit costs apx. $50.
Thought perhaps this might help someone who is looking for an inexpensive but functional addition for their progressive press.
in a similar vein, i had initially covered the press with a plastic kitchen garbage bag not wishing to spend 40-50 dollars for the OEM version... but my better half was appalled...so i picked up a very inexpensive smoker cover online, $9.99 and is really nice quality.
