Favorite Factory 38 Special FMJ

Looking for factory rounds that are FMJ so I don’t have to scrub the lead out.

Shooting a 686 and a Mr38(soon)

Pricing doesn’t matter at this point, I’d rather clean less

My S&W revolvers seem to like the Remington 130 gr. FMJ, shooting 24-shot groups at around 2" at 25 yards.

I would recommend getting a variety pack of what you can easily find (locally if possible) and do some testing. Revolvers can often have issues with primers that are on the harder side, which is why you often see people specifically running federal primers in their revolver loads. I don't recall the brand but I bought a box of cheap 357 ammo basically just for the brass and my 686 did not get along with the primers in that ammo at all. It would really suck to stock up on a bunch of ammo your wheel guns didn't like.

Remington and Federal 38spl ammo have worked well for me in the past, though I was shooting their lead offerings.

I agree with the Rem 130 gr FMJ 38's.  They also come in a 250 round mega pack.

I have shot some good 50 yard SF scores with these in my Ruger GP-100.

Only issue is they don't meet the 158 gr. rule for NRA dist. revolver.

The Remington 158gr lead RNs my (tuned trigger) Model 14 light off <60% of the time. Federal & AE factory ammo and my loads with federal SPP ~100% ignition
