Hello all,
Picked up a springfield mil spec for a CMP as-issued/ military police  matches.  The pistol shoots a 6' clock hold.... But I prefer a center hold.   What are my options ? A tall front sight?  Shorter rear sight??

6 oclock hold at what distance?
It's easy to push in replacement rear sights of different heights.  They are available.

Try it at the long line.  You might find that your 50 yard zero is where you want it for the long line.  Unless you are going to bring a sight pusher with you to matches, you will need to pick which distance you are going to set your sights for.

If I was going to shoot fixed sights, I would set them for 50 yards because a small adjustment in slow fire is an 8 or a 7.  At 25 yards, if you hit black, it's still a 9.

It's only 25 yard gun. As issued and military police matches are all shot on 25 yard targets

OK, OK, No need to go all bold on me.  I figured you might want to use it for CMP EIC matches also which has the slow fire stage fired at 50 yards.

A shorter rear sight is what you need.

If its "as issued" can you even change sights? Seems to defeet the purpose of this type match.

The rules say general size and weight for military or commercial products. If I get disqualified for using a fixed sight that a little taller cause my factory guns prints way high for me that ruined the spirit of the match.
