Titegroup Powder Empty Titegroup Powder

Post by 45 MIKE Mon Aug 04, 2014 9:03 pm

Found some Titegroup powder and loaded some Hornady FMJ, 4.8 gr and 4.4 gr
4.8 was really HOT but good group at 50yd. The 4.4 gr more controllable and
just as accurate

I bet you can use an even lighter load and keep the accuracy.

The 230 gr ball just doesn't seem to fly well. Try several different combinations and shoot the one that gives the right mix of accuracy and feel.

Did you take any pictures of the groups?  I'd be interested to see how they compared.

Been using 4.2 of Titegroup under a 230 Hornady FMJ with great success.

A good friend went distinguished on 4.1 Titegroup.

We use 4.6 at the shop, they both shoot well.

It really depends on what you can get your pistol to shoot.

Titegroup Powder Empty Titegroup and LSWC

Post by 45 MIKE Sun Aug 10, 2014 8:42 am

Just tested some LSWC with Titegroup
4.0 gr shot 10 ring at 50yd
but 3.8 gr shot X ring and that is just off sandbags no ransome rest
According to published load date seems like very lite charges
but shoots and cycles well in a brand new very tite gun
seems that Titegroup shoots a lot hotter than all the data out there

If you look in the sticky section at the top of the ammo section, "pet Loads"  you can see what high master and magnus bullet co. owner Terry Labbe  tight group loads, terry is a 2650+ shooter.

TG 4.4 worked well for me, and I tried some 4.8 for 50yd loads.  Gave scary flat primers!   Shocked    Don't shoot those anymore...
