There is an interesting Shockey built bulleye pistol on Rockisland's website, I would bid on it but I spent all my gun money this year:)  Fun to see what people have done in the past.  Have a happy new year.

If you want a historical pistol it would be nice. The Shockey's aren't competitive with a modern BE pistol. They had welded up barrels and minimum upper lug engagement; come out of battery too fast. More felt recoil and unforgiving shooting from hand. I shot one earlier this year. Recoiled extremely harsh even with reduced loads.

Thanks Jon, not really serious about this one but it is interesting to know about the technical issues involving 1911 pistols.  Would be interesting to shoot one side by side with a more current pistol to see feel the difference.  Have a good new year.
