NRA Ballot
I know we do not discuss politics here. I think my post avoids politics. Do any of you know if any of the candidates for the NRA board have a background in competitive shooting? Trap, hi-power, bullseye, long range, etc. does not matter to me...so long as they were involved with competitive shooting. Thanks,
Chip

Hap Rocketto for sure. At least one other. Hap has shot smallbore and a High Power. I don't know about him shooting pistol.

Re: NRA Ballot
Steve Reichart, not competitive shooter but runs one of the best shooting schools in the country. Retired Marine.
Re: NRA Ballot
Colonel Richard L. Kussman, USA (RET). He is double distinguished (rifle and pistol) and is currently a very active high power and long range competitor. Note the biographical sketche in the March "American Rifleman".

Re: NRA Ballot
I'd like to ask you for your support in electing Harold 'Hap' Rocketto to the BOD. If you decide to support Hap, please vote for Hap and Hap only. You can vote for up to 25 people but if you do, you dillute the vote for Hap by voting for others.
Why vote for Hap?
He's is an incredibly smart and articulate person that has books published about the history of competitive shooting at the National Matches.
He is himself a national champion in smallbore shooting.
He is currently a volunteer coach for the Coast Guard Rifle Team.
The NRA has been making some really stupid decisions in the competitive shooting division and Hap would be positioned to influence the competitive shooting division to make wiser decisions.

Re: NRA Ballot
I am casting 1 vote and that is for Hap. Further I am talking to all of the competitive shooters that I know to try to get them to do the same.
Here is a list of Hap's accomplishment:
• Hap is a NRA Benefactor member, nominated by petition.
• Supporter of Second Amendment and all NRA/ILA programs.
• Vietnam Era and Gulf War veteran with 21 years of service.
• Board of Directors of Rhode Island Revolver and Rifle Association, Quaker Hill Rod and Gun Club, and Southeastern Connecticut Friends of the NRA.
• Working to grow grassroots youth programs and participation in all shooting disciplines.
• Collector of .22 LR and National Match ammunition, Camp Perry memorabilia, and Winchester Palma rifles.
• NRA Instructor in multiple disciplines and Level 2 coach in smallbore and high power coaching at US Coast Guard Academy.
• NRA Distinguished Smallbore Position Rifle Award, Distinguished Rifleman, Presidents 100, National Record holder, past National Three Position Intermediate Senior and Senior Champion and member of the Connecticut National Guard and All National Guard Smallbore and High Power Teams.
• Represented United States internationally on Roberts, Pershing, and Maccabiah rifle teams.
• Shooting historian published in The American Rifleman, Shooting SUSA, pronematch.com, and other publications.
