Nice Email From NRA Competitions Empty Nice Email From NRA Competitions

I got the following email yesterday.  First time I've gotten anything like this.  Glad to see the NRA is trying something new.

*******************
Dear Competitor,
As the summer shooting season approaches, I would like to let you know about the recent changes to the NRA's competitive shooting sports and hope that you will consider attending.

The High Power Rifle Championships have been moved to Camp Atterbury, Indiana. Camp Atterbury is a 35,000 acre facility with dozens of ranges at our disposal for use during competition and side events. Housing on Camp Atterbury is plentiful with the most expensive room costing only $45.00. Camp Atterbury has its own campground, but should it fill, the Indiana Department of Natural Resources has another campground literally across the entrance from the main gate. America's Rifle Challenge, NRA 2-Gun, and a new One Mile Shot Club are just some of the exciting new side events that will be conducted. A banquet complete with a prize table will be a welcome addition to the awards ceremony.

The First Shot Ceremony will be held on Friday, July 7, 2017 and be followed by the Indiana Governor's Match. At the end of the day we will host a welcome barbeque for all competitors.

Mid-Range and Long Range events will follow High Power with Mid-Range being held July 15-19 and Long Range July 21-25.

New traditions in High Power start now at Camp Atterbury. Please join us and enjoy the camaraderie of your fellow competitors at the "NEW" and exciting NRA High Power Rifle Championships.

NRA Smallbore Championships will kick off in Bristol, Indiana at the St. Joseph Valley Rifle & Pistol Club on July 8, 2017. The Prone Championship will be held first with a 4800 course of fire. The Prone Championships end in time for competitors to have a day of travel to go to Camp Atterbury to compete in the Mid-Range and Long Range Prone Championships.

This is 4th year of competition in Bristol, Indiana and competitors have found new and exciting things to do, places to stay and new restaurants to frequent. Meanwhile, staff is working on a prize table to be included in the awards schedule and a range expansion is under consideration. Be sure to come and meet your Roberts Team who will soon be competing in England and representing the United States.

The NRA Precision Pistol Championships will continue to be conducted at historic Camp Perry, Ohio and will begin with registration on July 9, 2017, followed by 4 days of competition. Last year more than 700 pistol competitors from across the nation came to the shores of Lake Erie to compete for the prestigious title of the NRA National Pistol Champion. Meet and talk with the champions, enjoy the history of Camp Perry, and relax on the beach at the end of the day. It's all yours if you attend the National Pistol Championships.

Best Regards,

Joseph P. DeBergalis, Jr.
