First topic message reminder :

Dowe anyone use some sort of organizer for their pistol Box?  I have plenty of room left in mine, but it's annoying when everything slides around and I was curious if anyone developed a way to compartmentalize their boxes?

Don't forget to leave room for your cappuccino machine...

Question: Is the pistol mount a huge help other than looking cool?

The case club quick draw cases seem really neat. And the presentation of cases with cutout foam looks real neat.

I'm wondering why not just use soft sided cases or gun socks for the pistols and put them in a larger box.

I shot regionals this weekend and got a chance to see what the army marksmanship unit uses. They pack their pistols in gun rugs or individual padded cases and then into a pelican type case locked for travel. Their strong case pistol boxes hold tools, mags, glasses, blinders, towels, what ever they need for shooting.

I am about to change to something I just don't like clamping my pistols in the Strong Box.  I took the clamps out last week and tried to use gun rugs but only had one rug big enough for a scoped 1911.  So I switched to non scoped guns but when opening the box a RO fell out.  The GP 100 on the back side then fell in when the drawer was pulled out some.  Re installed clamps can hit a target with those non scoped gun anyway, Rugs in a soft carry bag it how I carried before starting BE guess I could buy 4 right sized rugs.  Maybe a wooden clamping system in my Strong Box.  Don

I try and keep it simple in the box. Guns, 1 or 2 mags each, an altoids tin of various wrenches and batteries, lube, timer, pen, squib rod, eyes and ears, ammo. I have a small bag for tape, staple gun, score pad and water.

"Organized" pistol box with "plenty of room left?" Unicorns are real!
lol!

Standard procedure is to tip box over on side, stand on top such that latches can be closed.

Things rattling around?  I don't think so!

Still waiting for Tnb to come out with the seven gun gun box.

You'd need another box for gear, but how about 15 pistols?

Slartybartfast,  Good idea, but, they won't hold long pistols or pistols with scopes. Being the cheapskate that I am I looked at something I already owned. What to do with that double rifle case you rarely use? They make a good 10 gun case. Very Happy

Well, it balances out. You have to have another one for the EIC matches, DR matches and 22 EIC matches. Laughing My wife by the way thinks I'm loosing it. " You did that just to take a picture?" I wouldn't actually want to carry it anywhere. And Tim:h11. There are 3 45s, 3 CF, 3 22s and only 2 Reeves revolvers in the picture. Obviously I need to find a way to get another wheel gun in. Back to the OP, I'm surprised there hasn't been any mention of reusing ammo and bullet boxes.  I use a few CCI plastic boxes and a couple Sierra Bullet boxes to store small stuff in my Pelican case.  If you work slowly and possibly warm them some, the labels will peel off without leaving adhesive behind.
