Eye Surgery Tomorrow
Well I am sticking this under Equipment as my eyes are part of my optical equipment I can't do with out. Tomorrow morning I am having the left cornea replaced the second time. Had the right done a couple years ago and it turned out perfect. The left was done this spring and and the cornea just doesn't like my eye or vice versa. I hope for better luck this time. The same person has done cataract lens replacement in both eyes and cornea in both and the guy is really good so I am looking forward to tomorrow. Bad thing he won't let me shoot for two weeks. Don

Take care! As part of our continuing education, I've seen first hand the fine work done by corneal surgeons, with the sutures looking like a piece of art. I'm confident in a successful outcome. I've had the pleasure of sitting in on a number of other types of eye surgeries.

Good luck Don, some say the third time's a charm. You'll do well, taking time off from shooting sucks. I didn't have cornea transplants just cataract surgeries and I'm starting to adapt a lot better now.

It will be good to know tomorrow when he checks it how it is doing. It is hard to tell at first because of the air bubble that they but brhind the new cornea. Don

I hope everything went all right. I had both cataracts replaced, but I'm sticking with my red dot sights.

Best of luck. I've had a "scrape and abrade" on my right eye due to "fingerprint" dystrophy. I had great confidence with my doctor and all went well but I think anyone facing getting their eyes worked on takes pause and gulps hard going into it.

Re: Eye Surgery Tomorrow
Update. Surgery went well and the eye is doing fine. It has been 3 weeks now and I I have a appointment next Friday. This being my fifth eye op I can say the only thing that bothers me about having eye surgery is the schedule of eye drops before and after. Probably the worst part was he wouldn't let me shoot for two weeks after each one For someone that shoots 4 to 5 days a week that is a big loss of range time. I started shooting again this week. can't hardly wait till I can have a refraction and get the right glasses. Thanks everyone for your support. Don

Re: Eye Surgery Tomorrow
Good news!!!
I've gone through the multiple eye-drops, twice now. Inconvenient, yes, but they did the job. A relative just got cataract surgery two days ago, and they gave her a "cocktail" of all the drugs in one, so she doesn't need to take the daily eye drops - but her other eye is watering like a faucet, and she's very uncomfortable.
You wrote about getting refraction done - here's one idea that might help you:
