Shot a 2700 and an EIC match for the first time today.
I went to Canton McKinley Rifle and Pistol Club today and shot at the Governor's Trophy Match. There were approx 45 of us shooting today. I had so much fun and I shot better than I expected. Everyone was very helpful and friendly. To top it off I got to meet Gunny Zins!
Also met a few people from my own area who pointed me in the right direction finding matches in my area.
For the people who say, "I want to go and watch first." Trust me, watching will get boring in about 5 minutes. There were some things (supplies and equipment) I forgot or did not realize I needed and I would have never figured that out from watching. Just do it!! I shot the .45 portion with a 1911 I have literally only owned for 48 hours. I did not stay for the revolver match but another shooter offered me a revolver and ammo to use.
I shot a 2372 34x and for the EIC match I shot a 266 5x.

Yes Gunny did shoot. He was way down the line from me so I have no idea how he shot. He said it was his first outdoor match in 18 months. I asked him and he said he would be shooting at Camp Perry this year.

Yes, Brian Shot, He has his game hat back on. Won the match with a 2620 something. Which was pretty good considering the gusting winds. i'm thinking the 266 in a Ball match probably took points home.
