What is a TUNED magazine?

I'm specifically asking about a 1911 magazine, but maybe this applies to all magazines.

What is done to a magazine such that it can be called "tuned"?

Or, another way of asking, if I have a "tuned magazine", and a magazine straight from Wilson, or Les Baer, what might be different in a magazine that is referred to as "tuned"?

I think they are mostly referring to magazines like High Standard mags that need their lips bent (tuned) to feed properly. I have never heard of bending 1911 magazines.

A lot of old timers (me included) will smooth the exterior on a 1911 mag where the trigger bars rub on it; one of things you can do to "tune it".

Checking and or adjusting the angle of the follower, replacing magazine spring, polishing the feel lips.  That's for the mag itself.
