How much .22 is too much? Empty How much .22 is too much?

I started shooting Bullseye a few years ago during the ammo drought. I recall paying $70 for a 500 round brick of CCI SV shipped. So with the current prices I've been stocking up. My question is how much do you guys keep on hand?

Matches alone not including any practice rounds I shoot around 6 bricks a year. I try to keep at least 4 times that on hand. One of our locals is also a sporting goods store owner and just informed us that he has CCISV for 250.00 a case. Just come and get it. I may pick up some more at that price.

Len     Not a hoarder if you shoot it all up. Very Happy

When prices are low I try to purchase a case every 4 to 6 weeks.

Between our weekly league match, practice and the out-of-area matches that I can make, I usually shoot around a case a year.  I keep at least three times that on hand, more if there is a good price out there, that way I can share with the newer shooters, if needed.

Before 22 was hard to find I'd always get a new case when I opened the last case.  When the shortage hit I was scrambling to find ammo quite a while before I found 2 cases of Wolf Match.  The shortage/high prices lasted a little over 2yr.

NOW I keep at minimum 2 unopened cases in backup.  Even though I already had my 2 backup cases I just bought 2 extra cases of CCI @ $250 because it was a deal.  I may buy more if I find an even better deal.  The way I look at it I have at least 10 more years of shooting in me so 10 cases will probably be my max inventory.

Honestly I would love to go into the next election with 5 full cases. I shoot about a case a year so that would last me a term. I wasn't real fond of paying the equivalent of $500/case for CCI SV over the last couple years of Barack yo mamma's term.
