WTB Bob Marvel 1911
WTB Bob Marvel 1911
I recently acquired a Marvel 1911... My father really loves the thing, so as a gift I may look to get something for him! Anyone have a Marvel gun in hand they are looking to sell? Doesn't necessarily need to be a "wad gun" I am probably looking for something 2006-2010 or so. Not opposed to earlier though
Let me know!

Re: WTB Bob Marvel 1911
I have a Marvel Bullseye gun which started out as a 1965 Colt Gov't model. It was accurized by Bob about 1997 and not shot very much since then. Round count is less than 2,000.
It has a wide trigger and stippled front grip and backstrap. There is a Clark rib on the Gun with a Matchdot 4 sight. Blue finish is 98%.
I have about $2300 in the gun which is what I would like to get for it.
If you are interested please PM your Email and Ill send you some pictures.

I suggest you checking conversions by Fred Kart. I don't have Bob Marvel's one, only Nelson and Kart. Both are extremely accurate, however I prefer Kart for longer distances. And the only reason is Kart's barrel rifling. I've never seen anything like that on any other barrel.

Correct, I already have a marvel conversion and a Chambers SSG conversion built on a dedicated frame... which imo is the best conversion I’ve seen.
Looking specifically for Marvel built 1911’s!

Yes, take a look at a Marlin Model 39A with the "Microgroove" barrel. And the only reason is Kart's barrel rifling. I've never seen anything like that on any other barrel.
Rumor is that Kart used the left over barrel blank ends for most of his conversion barrels.
And it is a great barrel / rifling for lead .22 bullets.

I’m Still looking!
**Would also be interested in a Chambers Custom gun (although I don’t think many are floating around).

Re: WTB Bob Marvel 1911
As mentioned anything that came from Bob Marvel specifically 1911’s. Really looking for stuff built from 2004-2012 but doesn’t need to be from that era.
Wad guns/bullseye pistols are fine, but again, any single stack gun that came from Bob is on my radar. Honestly prefer 9mm or 38 super but 45acp and .22 is also ok.
I’ve been offered a few things but what came up was from an era earlier than I was wanting.
As far as stuff from Joe, that’s a different story, really all depends on what’s floating around.

Still looking. I’ve gotten a handful of messages on Marvel guns! I appreciate all the info so far. I am very particular with what I am looking for. Not looking for a rail, not looking for a mount that has the frame drilled.
Here are a few pics of recent Marvel guns I’ve picked up to give you all some thoughts. Def looking for guns built after 1997.

Pistol from Joe (who worked under Bob):

Re: WTB Bob Marvel 1911
I’ve talked to PT partners several times as they are holding a handful of Bobs work. IMO they are out of touch on what the pistols they have should sell for. There is no wiggle room at all, so... I’d pass. With that said, the guns they have are a bit early for what I am looking for anyway.
Thx for the link though.
