NRA Award Points Worthless

I have been trying to cash in my NRA award points and have been told by NRA Hqs that they are worthless, even those with a 2020 expiration date. Does anyone have any info on this?

There was an announcement that they were being discontinued and there was a date listed that they would no longer be accepted, unfortunately I don't remember when it was.

They were accepted by some vendors at Perry.

The word has been out there for over 2 years that they were going to expire.  I am just like Dave I don't remember the date they were to expire, sounds like we must of gotten there.

They are supposed to be good until the end of the year.  I can PM who ever is interested a pdf copy of the letter I got from the NRA.  I posted it on the Texas Precision Pistol Facebook page a while back.

Just to bump this back up to remind anyone who still has some points laying around.    I just checked with Beth Martin, who is basically the entire pistol department at NRA, and confirmed the points are worthless after the end of this year.   Match directors can still send them in as payment for match fees and a few stores may take them, but time is about up.
