Did I just do that?!

As I look through my spotting scope, I can't believe what I'm looking at. My first 100! My anticipation as I reel the target back on the indoor range in palpable. It's real - I really did that! The details...

Range - 50ft
Condition - near freezing indoor range
Caliber - 22lr
Pistol - Ruger Mk III
Stage of fire - Timed Fire

Once again, I need to thank this forum for all their help and advice. Also, thanks for being the only group of people who understand what it means! I told my wife, and she just doesn't "get it". Also, I needed to tell you all, before I tell my dad - he gets a jealous pride with my achievements. Granted, it will be a long time before I can pull it off with slow fire, but it's a major milestone for me.

Congratulations! It's more of a mental roadblock at times for us rather than an ability issue. The better the execution of the fundamentals will be reflected in the target.

I've fired a bunch of 99's but that elusive 100 is still evading me.

Congrats on your first 100! They are trophies and you should keep them. Sign and date them as well as note where you shot it such as practice or match or league or state championship. My favorite trophy so far is from the WI state last year where I shot my first 100 in slow fire. It was the first target of the day and wound me up pretty good. It took three more targets before I settled back down again.

Now that you KNOW you can shoot 100's you WILL shoot them on a regular basis.

Think back on how you felt when you shot that target.

How the pistol felt in your hand.

How the trigger felt as the shot broke.

The first time I shot a 100 in 45 timed fire, I was so excited I forgot to paste up a target repair center. I sheepishly held up the whole line as I ran out there to staple up another target.

Thanks, everyone! Right now, I have the target hanging on my fridge (next to my nieces and nephews') artwork. However, I may have to frame it soon. It is dated, but I doubt I will forget that moment anytime soon. Now if I could only do that during a match......
