A very good bullseye shooter in the 1960's. I think his first name was Jerry.

Jerry Wilder. I shot with him on USAR All Reserve Pistol Team early 90’s. He was on US Team, 2650 shooter.

I'm guessing you’re referring to Jerry Wilder.
Jerry and I have become close friends. He helped me transition into pistol from rifle shooting. We make maple syrup together every spring.

Did Jerry have a GunHo box with "TROOPER" on the inside lid?

OK, just asking as the box I bought off Ebay had a massive sticker in it.   But there are a ton of troopers.

I just remembered that when I made the USAR team, that all the international pistol team members were using custom fabricated pistol boxes. Boxes laid on their back with lid (side of case) locked open with scope mounted to the lid with Gil Hebard mount. Jerry used one of these boxes. At Perry would be only time they might switch to Gung Ho style box for the wind/rain.
I finally got one of these boxes in 2013.
