It was my privilege to be present at the Red River Marksmanship Center in Fargo, ND yesterday.
Travis Jorgenson was the match winner with a 2650. (forgot the x count)
WAY TO GO TRAV!

Al

PS: got the match results bulletin, 2650-92x

You don't see many scores like that at a match, he shot a high score at the Oakdale Regional last year. I watched him shooting DR and miss cock  a shot in rapid and double action it around and get it on target before it turned. That has stuck in my brain forever.

Yep. He sure can shoot! He also holds a HM card in high power rifle and I believe is rifle distinguished as well.

One lesson I took from Travis's scores is that you don't need to shoot clean to score high... he only cleaned 6 of 27 targets, of course, one was slowfire, but hey lots of time right? Consistency is a good thing...

I think he's just getting started... happy i get to tag allong...

I was at Oakdale yesterday and saw that he won the MN state match a week or so ago with something like a 2640.

Yep, he's consistent, a really nice guy and has a unique stance.

Travis has been shooting almost as long as I have. We were teammates at the CAT Games in 1997 in Buenos Aires. I recall we won three team gold medals together.

He definitely has a high ceiling, but he is not "just getting started".

2650 is good for a dang kid Laughing

What I meant was that I think he's going to shoot higher scores for a long time. Didn't mean that he just started shooting.  High cieling is a much better way to say it.

Aprilian,
Have you been out to North Dakota for a match yet? When you do you’ll understand his stance!

Can't remember if it was 02 or 07 at Perry we had some 30-35mph winds. I felt right at home. Three weeks before we had shot the Regional at the Valley City range in 50 mph+ winds. Perry felt like light and variable breezes.

I think Kate Shaumann (Wyoming) is probably the only other person I know that uses a log chain for a wind meter lol!

Al,
I think it was you who told me that the log chain had to be less than four feet long or else it would snap off in the wind!
