185 JHP load for hard ball 45ACP???

Just got a 45 for hard ball been using a 9MM for years.
Never used the 185 JHP what is a good load to use?

4.4-4.6 Bullseye

4.5 N310, 1.205 OAL, .469 crimp

Those are warmer loads. I use 3.8-4.0 BE with 185 jhp and have maintained 280+ NMC average with ZERO practice. Not bad for being blind; well iron sights do make me feel that way lol 
Rules allow powder puff loads now so that’s what I mostly shoot. Use same load for 230’s.

I use 4.2gr N310, 1.2" COL 0.469 crimp.

The best factory 185JHP I have been able to try so far is ASYM. It works very well in both of my 1911's. Slide mounted red dot or irons.

I tried to replicate the ASYM performance using Nosler 185 JHP bullets. Found that 4.3 N310 is almost identical. 1.200. 0.439.

Remember folks ever barrel is alittle different. With mine I tested 3.8 to 4.5 of N310 and my gun shot 4.5 the best. These were 50 shot groups

"I" would only add that the load which is the most accurate out of your gun, may not be the same as the load which "you" shoot the best. Ransom rests are not allowed on the line. Develop the load which "you" shoot the best. It probably will be a little softer than the most accurate load.

If using 185 JHPs in .45, start around 3.9 grains with Clays, 4.0 with either BE or VV N310 or 4.1 with WST. Depending on how your gun is sprung, magazines and grip, you may need to up it a tad to start. I think you will find a good load very quickly within a couple/few tenths of these starting points using these powders. Crimp as needed to suite your gun's chamber/throat. Around .469 - .471 is likely the sweet spot as well. OAL plus or minus a few thousands of 1.200".

Crimp and OAL in line with what others have stated. I tried to match my reloads off of what I measured of the ASYM ammo.
