New CCW weapon Empty New CCW weapon

Post by mustachio Wed Aug 18, 2021 9:31 pm

I got a new CCW gun, a SIG P365. It is all that I have heard it is. It is accurate, very concealable and holds 10 rounds of 9mm. It is the same size as the Kahr CM9/PM9 that only holds 6 or 7 rounds. I have shot it 3 times so far and have had no failures of any kind. The primer drag problem has been eliminated with the newly designed striker. The trigger is at least 6 #, but fairly smooth. Getting the 10th round in the mag is a challenge, thank God I have an Uplulu.  It is about 20 oz. loaded. Recoil is very manageable for a micro compact. At 7/8 yards, I can keep all shots in the center of a reduced silhouette target, about a 3-4" group. SIG makes other iterations of the gun, the XL, which is longer in both length and height, but that defeats the concept of concealment, at least for me.

It is an excellent conceal carry carry gun. Light, compact, accurate. You did well.
Probably won't get much recognition here since it's not a gun that you stand up and shoot with one hand, for score.
It could save your life or the life of another......to me that's real scoring.
I'm glad you like your new gun purchase,,,,you should. And there's nothing wrong with that.
It's a nice one.
Thanks for posting the photo.

I was just sharing. I post here often about my S&W model 52, my Volquartsen 22LR and my CZ Shadow 2. I am a bullseye shooter, but do like the best carry gun I can get.

With my mitts the XL was the only choice. The Romeo Zero also a big plus.New CCW weapon 20210615

On the subject of new CCWs. Submitted is my SW MP Shield Plus 9mm. Yes the MP models have a tough slide lock/slide release but was remedied after 40 rounds. Trigger is fantastic ..you have to try it for yourself. Glock like in design with MINIMAL reset. Pic has the 10 round mag with pinky support for my large hand.New CCW weapon Sw_mp_10

Personally I feel like it's large enough that I will carry a commander 1911. SIG P238/938 fits in the front pocket of my slacks. If too big for that, 1911 time (leather OWB pancake holster). Just my preference. Shot a metal framed 365 and it was a fine enough gun for a striker thingie Very Happy

If you feel the need for more  then the shield In 40cal could be what you want. Nosler 135gr and 7.4gr Power Pistol . Kicks butt on a 9mm but not hard on hands.New CCW weapon 20190914

I've had my Sig P365 for a couple of years now. At the weekly range trip with my very experienced shooting buddy, a couple of days ago, he commented that he doesn't shoot his P365 much, but every time he does, he seems to shoot it very well. I feel the same. I've shot around 1,500-2,000 rounds through mine without any issues. Like someone else said, it ain't for those with large mitts.

I replaced my older gen M&P Shield with the P365 because it's a bit smaller and easier to conceal.
