Smith & Wesson Model 52-2

First topic message reminder :

I read that the 52-2 is most accurate / effective at only up to 25 yards ? Reasons ?
Is this gun collectible today?
Why not make a magazine that can hold 10 ammo instead of 5 ? Won't that be easy enough to make?
Why is the manufacture date so difficult to find even with the serial numbers?

Yes the slot can be extended to accommodate 6 rounds and many 52 magazines have had this modification done by a competent gun smith who would mill the slot longer so the follower could compress farther into the magazine to accept 6 rounds.
When I shot PPC with a M52 this was a standard modification to the mags.
