Valuation question Empty Valuation question

Post by TonySmjc Mon Nov 22, 2021 2:12 pm

Provided I’m not stretching the truth

Rugger mark 3 target 22 6 inch bull barrel
Maybe 500 rounds through it
I have the rail never installed
Call it 95percent condition ( even though it’s 100)
Actions been worked to a crisp 2 lbs
And the fast disconnect was installed by a smith

I’ve got a 2 Moa trijicon brand new I can toss on it

A friend wants it
Any thoughts on price with rmr / without ??

If it’s blued and you mean 5.5” barrel (I don’t think there was a 6”), with two magazines. I’d say 4 bills without the RMR. You might get $450 in a stranger to stranger sale. Others will disagree with me for sure.

Trigger jobs are pretty easy or a drop in VQ sear is only $30. The speed strip kit is $50. I always discount that kind of thing when I’m buying unless it’s exactly how I would have set it up. For a comparison, our local chain has the Mk IV 5.5” bull for $469.

I agree with Rod that aftermarket, it should be about same value as your Trijicon

+$100 for stainless. You maybe could get more on gun(I’m)broker, but if it’s a friend…

There’s a lot to be said for buying from a known source. That will be a great pistol for a long time. You’re a good friend to let go of it.

This right here.  Once you step up to a very high quality pistol, you realize the money for the Ruger and all those upgrades you bought for it would have been better spent on buying the nice pistol to start with.  It is no big deal, I did the same thing, just part of being new and wanting to keep it affordable.  Once I had a Hammerli in hand though, the Ruger was traded in for a Range Officer.  I don’t miss it a bit.

Funny story about the Ruger.  I came in for BE league night and the store owner told he sold my pistol trade-in.  I said congrats, but then he told me that he  “sold” it to the thieves that had broken in the night before and made off with all the guns that were not in the store safes.  Shocked

Learned that lesson long long ago
Once upon a time all I shot was
Clark
Hammerli
Fwb and the like
Had to liquidate when I moved from a free state to a communist one

I bought the rugger to play with until I was ready to move here full time

I’m just repopulating my collection
