45 acp small primer brass - Fr&@>*¥?!!

First topic message reminder :

While loading today I ran across a small infestation of Federal 45 brass with small pistol primer pockets in my mixed brass… while running a Star reloader... Ratzafratzen!! 

Are other manufacturers putting out SP brass? 

Who came up with the idea to change primer sizes?  I want a NAME and lat/lon for his location.

OMG it’s everywhere. YUCK!! 

One of the reasons I never invested i a brass feeder for my Dillon's and inspect every piece of brass before it goes into the shell holder plate.

But if you have a bunch of the small primer brass I'll take it off your hands and use it. Send me a PM and we can discuss where you can send it.

Well so far, no responses so I guess those who have the small primer brass plan on using it.
I needed some so I could conserve my large primer stash for matches only and use small primer brass for practice.

Sorry - I tossed mine in recycle so they didn’t infect me. If I run across more, you can have it! Yuck!

I came across some SPP cases and I shoot 40 cal in my glock , so I had the small primers. I figured I'd try em in my 45 . Same load, same bullet only different primer. My gun wouldn't even function properly with em. I was getting FTE's . I do however use WST powder and I have read that you need a bigger match to light the fire. That ended my experiment.

I too am no fan of 45 SP cases. They jam up my super 1050 at the primer pocket swage station. Any that make it past the swage station go the priming station which ends up with a loud "bang!" and my wife asking me if I know what the hell I am doing. No fun at all.

I've tried visual inspection but a few always sneak by. Out of frustration I now mark my cases and just say "NO" to range pickup brass. 

In the long run, Starline is looking better and better.  YMMV
