Hammerli 208S Safety Problem Empty Hammerli 208S Safety Problem

I have a 208s with the knob safety on the rear of the slide.  The safety has come loose and rotates freely which is causing all kinds of FTF issues.  I think I'd like to just remove it but can't seem to drive out the little cross pin that appears to secure the knob to the shaft of the safety wedge in the slide.

Any help is appreciated!

So I put the knob in a padded vise and gave the slide a quick tug and it came off.  Looks like it was actually broken off inside the knob.  No clue how anything put that kind of stress on it.
