I am Getting ready to sight in in my Mark IV target 5.5 bbl pistol. My local indoor range is 17 yards distance. So I want to do a basic sight in with CCI 1235 FPS ammo in my pistol at 17 yards just to get a good base and get it to shoot accurate at 17 yards indoor 1st. Then move out to outdoor 50 yard bullseye target and put the final red dot adjustment on it. Quick question. So what should be my aiming point at
17 yards to be as close to dead on bullseye at 50
Yards ? Would you say aim 1/2 inch low at
17 yards ?
10 yards . How low would you aim at 10 yards for a 50yd bullseye ?
7 yards yards. How low would you at 7 yards for a
50 yard Bullseye ? Like I say just trying to
Get very very close than will start working on fine tuning and working on my technique.
Thanks. Marty

CCI shows the 1235 velocity (from a rifle length barrel) as about 1060 in a pistol.

I would zero at 17 yards, that should put you very close at 50 yards (using the velocity from a pistol)

I used this online calculator.
ShootersCalculator.com | Ballistic Trajectory Calculator

G1 balistic coeficient of 0.122
Bullet weght 40 gr
Velocity 1060
zero range 50 yards
sight height 1.5"

Here is the chart it created-

Wow, that chart explains why I never had to change elevation from 50 feet indoors to 50 yards outside back to 25 yards. Or possibly the less than .5" rise is totally lost in my 3 or 4 inch wobble zone. Shocked

Thanks for posting that.

The same chart shows about 0.33 high at 25 yards

250.33-1.25
It is a little different if you use CCI Std Velocity which is about 940 fps out of a pistol

You might want to try the CCI SV, I think it shoots better. At least it does in my gun.
